Mr. Bozzi joined the foundation after a career with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. At the CDC he held a variety of positions focused on global health and infectious disease programs, most recently serving as the Associate Director for Management and Operations for the National Center for HIV, STDs and Tuberculosis Prevention. He has held positions with a broad range of operational and management responsibilities including formulating, directing, and coordinating resources, policy development, and program implementation. He served as Associate Director with the National Center for Infectious Diseases from 1989 to 1993, and was the Associate Director of the Vector-Borne Viral Diseases Division from 1984 to 1989. He held a variety of positions with CDC in state health departments in Miami, Florida, Seattle Washington, New York City, and New Orleans Louisiana.
Mr. Bozzi was one of the original architects of the Global AIDS Program. In 1999 he was assigned the lead for the design and implementation of this landmark program leading the establishment of 25 CDC field sites in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America. Within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) he represented CDC and the department to Congress, USAID, the Department of State and the Office of Management and Budget in implementing the initiative.
He is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Bachelors degree in Microbiology, a Masters in Psychology and a Masters in Business Administration from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business Global Masters Program.
